Service Tax Provider Types
Your vendors can provide different types of services, and they can be different types of service providers. The fourth character in the PAN number for a vendor identifies the type of service provider as outlined in the following table.

You must set up service entity types that reflect these types of service providers. You can group them and extend the list to reflect your needs. Then, for each vendor, you must specify their service entity type.
