Calculation Order Field, Tax Area Line Table
Specifies an integer to determine the sequence the program must use when tax is calculated. This is relevant if you have set up several lines and use the Calculate Tax on Tax feature. In this case, the numbers on the lines must all be different.
By default, the lines are sorted by jurisdiction code in the Tax Area Line window. However, when the program calculates sales tax, the tax area lines are sorted first by tax area and then by calculation order number. The program starts calculating tax for the jurisdiction on the line with the highest calculation-order number. Then it calculates tax for the second highest, and so on.
If you do not use the Calculate Tax on Tax feature, it is not necessary to enter calculation-order numbers at all.
