Applies To: Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Feature Pack, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012
Click Product information management > Setup > Attributes > Attributes.
Use this form to define details that your organization wants to track for a particular product or category. You can add the attributes to a product by adding the attribute to the category to which the product is assigned in the Category hierarchy form
Product attributes can be applied to retail products. You can assign the attributes to a category of retail products. For more information about setting up attributes for retail products see Add and update product attributes for retail channels or Key tasks: Create retail product catalogs.
Note
In AX 2012 R3 Cumulative Update 8 you can select metadata options to apply to the attributes. Select the options that indicate how the attributes for each product should behave.
For example, you can select whether attributes are required, whether they can be used for search, and whether they can be used as a filter. For retail products, the attribute metadata settings can be overridden at the channel level.
For more information about setting attribute metadata for a retail channel, see Add and update product attributes for retail channels.
