Customer invoice journal (form)

Click Accounts receivable > Inquiries > Journals > Invoice journal.

Use this form to view all updated and posted customer invoices.

You can view information about each invoice, such as customer account, order number, invoice number, and invoice currency and totals.

To view details about the invoice lines for the selected invoice, click the Lines tab.

The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.

The tabs and controls that were added to this form for the Warehouse management features in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3 are not described in this topic. For information about these features, see Warehouse management.

Overview

View a list of updated or posted customer invoices.

Lines

View the invoice lines for the selected invoice.

Description

Preview/Print

Open a menu that contains the following items:

  • Copy preview – Display or print a copy of the printed sales order invoice or free text invoice using the current form setup parameters.

  • Original preview – Display or print the original printed sales order invoice or free text invoice and copies, if any, by using the current form setup parameters.

  • Use print management – Reprint the sales order invoice or free text invoice using the current form setup parameters.

Voucher

View ledger transactions.

View distributions

Open the Accounting distributions form, where you can view accounting distributions for the selected free text invoice or invoice line. This button is not available for customer invoices that are for a sales order.

Subledger journal

Open the Subledger journal form, where you can view the subledger journal lines for the selected transaction.

Totals

View totals for the customer invoice.

Charges

Create, edit, and view charges that have been added to the selected customer invoice or lines.

Transactions

View all posted transactions for the customer for the selected customer invoice.

Posted sales tax

View posted sales tax transactions for the selected customer invoice.

Commission

Create, edit, or view commission information for the selected customer invoice.

Shipments

View shipping specifications for the selected customer invoice.

Bill of lading

Create, edit, or view bills of lading.

Send...

Send the selected customer invoice as an XML document.

Intercompany

View intercompany information for the selected customer invoice.

Inventory (Lines tab)

Open a menu that contains the following items:

  • Lot transactions – View the expected lot transactions for the item on the selected sales order invoice line.

  • Dimensions display – Set up the inventory dimensions for the item on the selected sales order invoice line.

Fields

Field

Description

Invoice account

The account number of the customer who was invoiced. For more information, see Customer invoice account number.

Sales order

The order or project numbers that the invoice is created from. This field is automatically filled in when you create the invoice.

Date

The invoice date, which is also used as the posting date. This date is also used to calculate the due date and the cash discount date. You can change the invoice date manually before updating.

Invoice

The invoice number, which is automatically generated when the invoice is updated. Define the invoice number series in the Number sequences form.

Billing classification

The billing classification that was assigned to the invoice when it was created.

Note

This control is available only if the Public Sector configuration key is selected.

Voucher

The ledger voucher number, which is generated automatically when the invoice is updated. Define the voucher series in the Number sequences form.

Currency

The currency for the invoice. For more information, see CustInvoiceJour_CurrencyCode_More.

Invoice amount

The total invoice amount. This includes any discount, charges, sales tax, and rounding.

Intercompany company

The identifier of the intercompany legal entity.

Intercompany purchase order

The identifier of the intercompany purchase order.

Sales order

The order that the line is generated from.

Item

A unique code that is assigned when items are created.

Sales category

The category from the sales category hierarchy. For lines that are identified by a unique product number, the category is automatically derived from the product catalog. For lines that are identified by a description and a category only, the category must be selected on the line.

The sales category is used to group similar goods. This grouping is for statistical purposes and might also determine how the transaction is posted and processed.

Description

The free text description that has been entered in the text field on the sales order. The description is used on reports and on documents.

Quantity

The quantity expressed in sales units.

Unit price

An overview of the sales price setup for costs. The price per unit is expressed in the order currency.

Discount percent

The discount as a percentage.

Discount

The discount as a currency amount.

Sales tax included in amount

The sales tax amount included in the amount (sales tax is included in prices).

Payment ID

The payment ID for the transaction.

Note

(NOR) This control is available only to legal entities whose primary address is in Norway.
