Journal approval setup (form)

Click Project management and accounting > Setup > Journals > Journal approval. In the Journal approval form, click the Lines button.
Use this form to specify the approval stages of a project journal approval procedure.
The approval procedure for workers depends on which user group the workers belong to. Only users who are members of the specified user group can perform actions on the journal lines or move journals through stages.
Example
In the setup described in the following example, all technicians and supervisors, as well as the project manager, can enter transactions. Only supervisors and the project manager can approve transactions. The project manager alone can post transactions.

Status value |
Create a status value. A status value is a name that you assign to identify a stage of a journal as it moves through the journal approval process. Typical status values include Entered, Approved, and Posted. |
Ready for posting |
Select this check box to specify that a transaction journal that has the selected status value can be posted. |
Check journal |
Select this check box to specify that a journal that has the selected status value should be checked when the status changes. |
Editing |
Select this check box to specify that a journal that has the selected status value can be edited. |
Group ID |
Select the user group that is allowed to act on journals that have the selected status value. |
Next |
Select the approval status that should succeed the selected status. For the final status in the approval process, this field is left blank. |
