Journal control (form)
Applies To: Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Feature Pack, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012
Click General ledger > Setup > Journals > Journal names. Select a journal name and then click Journal control.
Use this form to set up and maintain posting rules for the journal templates in the Journal names form. You can select which account types a journal can be posted to, and which segment values are valid for a journal.

The following table provides descriptions for the controls in this form.

Company accounts (Which account types can be posted?) |
The legal entity that the selected journal can be posted to. If <All> is displayed, there are no posting restrictions by legal entity for the journal. |
Account type |
Select the account type that the selected journal can be posted to. If <All> is displayed, there are no posting restrictions by account type for the journal. |
Company accounts (Which segment values are valid for this journal?) |
Select the legal entity that is valid for the selected journal. This field is available only when Ledger is selected in the Account type field. |
Account structure |
Select the account structure that is valid for the selected journal. This field is available only when Ledger is selected in the Account type field. |
Segment |
Select the segment that is valid for the selected journal. This field is available only when Ledger is selected in the Account type field. |
From value |
The starting main account value in the range of valid main account values for the selected journal. This field is available only when Ledger is selected in the Account type field. |
To value |
The ending main account value in the range of valid main account values for the selected journal. This field is available only when Ledger is selected in the Account type field. |
