Tracing Cockpit Form
Applies To: Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Feature Pack, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012
Click Tools > Tracing cockpit.
Use this form to collect a trace file for client events or server events. You can view the trace later by using the Microsoft Dynamics AX Trace Parser.
Navigating the form
The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.
Buttons
Button |
Description |

Start trace |
Start the trace. After you click this button, specify the name of the trace file in the Save Trace As dialog box. |
Stop trace |
Stop the trace, and save the trace file. You can open the trace file later by selecting the trace in the list and then clicking Open trace. |
Cancel trace |
Cancel the trace, and delete the current trace file. |
Open trace |
Open the selected trace in the Microsoft Dynamics AX Trace Parser, if the Trace Parser is installed. |

Collect server trace |
Select this check box to collect tracing information for the server. Otherwise, only tracing information for the client is collected. |

Select this check box to collect tracing information for XppMarker events. |
TraceInfo |
Select this check box to collect tracing information for TraceInfo events. |
RPC |
Select this check box to collect tracing information for Remote Procedure Call (RPC) events. |
Xpp |
Select this check box to collect tracing information for Xpp events. |
SQL |
Select this check box to collect tracing information for SQL events. |
Detailed database |
Select this check box to collect tracing information for detailed database events. |
TTS |
Select this check box to collect tracing information for TTS events. |
Bind parameters |
Select this check box to collect tracing information for bind parameter events. |
Maximum file size (MB) |
The maximum size of the trace file, in megabytes. |
