Transfer quotation to project wizard
Applies To: Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Feature Pack, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012
Click Project management and accounting > Common > Quotations > Project quotations. Select a quotation, and then, on the Action Pane, on the Follow up tab, in the Modify group, click Transfer to project.
Use this wizard to associate a quotation with a project and transfer the quotation transactions to a project forecast.
Note
Only quotations that have a status of Confirmed can be associated with a project.

Create a new or select an existing project |
Select an option to indicate how to associate the quotation with a project. You can associate a quotation with an existing project or a new project. |

Select the project to associate with the quotation. This page opens if you selected Existing project on the Create a new or select an existing project page. |
Create project |
Create a new project to associate with the quotation. This page opens if you selected New project on the Create a new or select an existing project page. For more information about how to create a project, see Create a project. |
Transfer quotation to project forecast |
If you want to transfer the quotation lines to the project forecast, select the Transfer to project forecast check box, and then, in the Model field, select the forecast model to use. The forecast model defines preferences for how you want to view the progress of a project, such as whether WIP transactions are included in the forecast, and whether a forecast model is restricted to budgetary control. |

Select this check box to create item requirements for the quotation items that are listed in the grid. |

Select this option to associate the quotation with an existing project. Note You can associate quotations only with projects that have the same customer as the quotation. |

Project ID |
Select the project to associate the quotation with. |
Project type |
Select the type of project that you are creating. For more information, see About using the Time and material project type for a fixed-price project. |
Project ID |
Enter an identifier for the project. |
Name |
Enter a name for the project. |
Project group |
Select a project group for the project. The project must belong to a project group of the same type. |
Project contract ID |
Select a project contract for the project. |
Customer account |
Select a customer for the project. The customer that you select must be the same as the customer for the quotation. |
Create estimate project |
Select this check box if you want to process estimates for the project. This option is available only if you are creating a Fixed-price project. Note This control is not available if Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2 or AX 2012 R3 is installed. |
Cost template |
If you selected the Create estimate project check box, select a cost template for the project. Note In Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2, the Cost template field is located in the Project groups form. |
Period code |
If you selected the Create estimate project check box, select a period type for the project to specify how frequently estimates are calculated. Note In Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2, the Period code field is located in the Project groups form. |
Transfer to project forecast |
Select this check box if you want to transfer the quotation transactions to a project forecast. |
Model |
If you selected the Transfer to project forecast check box, select a forecast model for the project forecast. |
Transfer to item requirement |
Select this check box if you want to transfer the quotation items to item requirements for the project. Note Item requirements are not created for a new project. |
