Description

Specifies the pay type for an employee.

Constant

Description

Hourly

Paid by the hour.

Salary

Paid a specific amount each pay period.

Piecework

Paid per unit made or completed.

Commission

Paid according to what and how much an employee sells.

Business Expense

Used to track the records of employees who are reimbursed for mileage and travel expenses.

Overtime

The employee is paid for working more than the assigned number of hours and is paid at different pay rates for the additional hours.

Double Time

The employee qualifies for double-time pay.

Vacation

The employee receives pay while on vacation.

Sick

The employee receives pay while sick.

Holiday

The employee receives paid time off during holidays.

Pension

The employee is retired and receives pension pay from the company.

Other

Used to classify additional types of pay.

Earned Income Credit

The employee qualifies for the earned income credit and has filed a W-5 form.

Charged Tips

The employee receives tips from customers through a charge card or check.

Reported Tips

The employee receives cash tips from customers.

Minimum Wage Balance

The employee must earn a specified minimum hourly amount. Available only for Charged Tips and Reported Tip pay types.
