How to: Set Up Activities

You can set up activities when you want to assign a task to a salesperson that is complex and could be divided into several steps. The to-dos composing the activity are linked to each other by a date formula.

To set up an activity

  1. In the Search box, enter Activities, and then choose the related link.

  2. On the Home tab, in the New group, choose New.

  3. Fill in the Code and Description fields.

  4. On the first empty line, enter the first to-do within the activity.

    In the Type field, select one of the options.

    Fill in the Priority and Date Formula fields for this line.

Repeat these steps to enter all the to-dos within the activity.

Note

When you assign an activity to a salesperson, all the to-dos within the activity are assigned to the same person and use the current work date to calculate the date on which the to-dos are due.
