How to: Post Transfers Between Bank Accounts in the Same Currency
After you have set up your bank accounts, you can use them for posting. Sometimes, you need to post a transfer of an amount from one bank account to another. To post bank transfers, use a general journal.
To post a transfer between bank accounts in the same currency
In the Search box, enter General Journal, and then choose the related link.
On a journal line, fill in the Posting Date and Document No. fields.
In the Account Type field, select Bank Account.
In the Account No. field, select a bank account. Fill in the Amount and Description.
Fill in the balancing account Bal. Account Type and Bal. Account No. fields.
Post the journal.
Note
The text that you enter in the Description field will be copied to the corresponding field on the bank ledger entries for both accounts.
