Run Time Unit of Meas. Code Field, Routing Line Table

Specifies the unit of measure code that applies to the run time of the operation.

Additional Information

For each operation (production order routing line), you can define a unit of measure for run time that is different from the unit of measure of the other time elements, such as setup and wait times.

Example

Assume that the item on an operation has a lot size of 2. On the production order routing line, the setup time unit of measure is Minutes, and the run time unit of measure is Hours. If you then enter 15 in the Setup Time field and 5 in the Run Time field, then it means that the setup time of the operation is 30 minutes and the run time is 10 hours.

While you can use different units of measure for the different time elements, the total figures, such as that shown in the Expected Capacity Need field of the routing line or the Capacity Need field in production order statistics, will always be summed in one unit of measure. You select the common unit of measure for capacity sums in the Show Capacity In field in the Manufacturing Setup window.

So, for the example above, the capacity need of the operation would be 10.5 hours or 630 minutes, depending on the common unit of measure you have set up.
