The Advanced Settings option in the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Help Builder Wizard helps you define specific settings that control the appearance and behavior of the built Help project. By using the advanced settings option, you can define how titles and headings should look, define how the table of contents should be sorted, or define the boilerplate text that is printed under specific circumstances. This topic lists the different options that are available when you use these advanced settings.
Titles and Headings
The Titles and Headings section lists all of the format strings that are used for formatting titles, headers, Alinks, and index keywords in the topic. The strings are localized to match the language settings of Microsoft Dynamics NAV, but you can overwrite these setting if it is necessary. The placeholders {0} and {1} for tables are replaced by object names. For example, a title written as {0}, {1} (table) will be replaced with the table name and the table field name, such as Code, Activity (table).
HH File and Help Window
Important
This setting does not work when generating .html files for the Help Server.
By default, an .hh file is created when the help project is compiled in Help Builder. The .hh file makes sure that the correct Help is displayed when the user presses F1. If you have any customized Help that you want to display when the user presses F1, select the Let my topics override F1 Help option. In the Help Window section you can change the text displayed in the title bar of the Help window.
TOC Sorting
Important
This setting does not work when generating .html files for the Help Server.
In the TOC Sorting section you can decide whether you want the Help book nodes to be sorted. You have to define a list of book nodes that must be sorted. By default, not all books are sorted. The sort order depends on the language settings that are selected in the Select language Help Builder window.
Copyright
The Copyright section lets you modify the copyright statement of your Help project. You can determine the content of the copyright statement and where it should be included in the Help project.
Location Titles
The Location Titles section contains a list of all the Help project names with a descriptive name. You can add titles at the end of the list.
The location title displays when you use Search in the compiled CHM file.
Processing Metadata
The Processing Metadata section lets you insert information about the Help project, such as the date it was generated, build number, and language. Processing metadata must be specified as HTML. It is inserted into the header section of each topic. Use this information to verify that you are running the newest Help project and include build number information for bug handling.
Boilerplate Text
Use the Boilerplate Text section to change boilerplate text and appearance in Help topics. By default, boilerplate text is activated.
For example, in the core Help for Microsoft Dynamics NAV, boilerplate text is inserted above the See Also section in reference topics for reports, windows, and fields.
Page and Report Links
Important
This setting does not work when generating .html files for the Help Server.
By default, page and report links are activated. Use the page and report links to open links from the object reference topic on a page or a report. By default, the links appear at the top of the page. Use these settings to change where the link appears in the Help topic and to modify or translate the link text.
