How to: Define Users’ Synchronization Credentials
You should define Outlook credentials and synchronization preferences for each user for the Microsoft Dynamics NAV entities that the users will be able to synchronize. Specify a set of synchronization entities which the user can work with, the direction of the synchronization, and, if it is required, apply additional conditions to the Microsoft Dynamics NAV entities that can be synchronized. For more information, see Outlook Synchronization Users.
To be able to specify credentials and preferences, you need administrator permissions.
To define a user’s synchronization credentials
In the Search box, enter Outlook Synch. User Setup, and then choose the related link.
On the Home tab, in the New group, choose New to create a new user.
On the first empty line, choose the User ID field, and then select a user name. This user should already be a registered Microsoft Dynamics NAV user.
Assign one or more synchronization entities to the specified user. For more information, see How to: Assign Synchronization Entities to Users.
Choose the Synch. Direction field to select the direction of synchronization:
Bidirectional
Microsoft Dynamics NAV to Outlook
Outlook to Microsoft Dynamics NAV
For more information, see Synch. Direction.
Note
The user whose name is entered in this window can perform synchronization using the settings for the synchronization entities that have been assigned to him or her. Repeat these steps if you want to assign more than one synchronization entity to the same user.
