How to: Undo a Time Sheet Line Associated with an Assembly Order or Service Order

When you create an assembly order or service order and then add lines to account for the usage of resource hours, when you post the order, the resource hours are automatically added to a time sheet with the status Approved. However, you may have entered the time incorrectly or you may want to make some other update. In that case, you undo the entry of the time in the time sheet itself.

To undo the posting of time from a time sheet

  1. Open the time sheet that has the incorrect number of hours.

  2. Add a new time sheet line of the Resource type.

  3. To correct an erroneous entry, enter a negative number to match the incorrect entry. For example, suppose a resource has 2 approved hours of usage for an assembly order on a Thursday, and the correct value is zero. On the new line, enter -2 for the same Thursday.

  4. On the Home tab, in the Process group, choose Submit. Submit the line for approval.

  5. Open the manager time sheet for the same time period.

  6. On the Home tab, in the Process group, choose Approve. Approve the resource line.

  7. Open the Resource Journal window, and on the Home tab, in the Process group, choose Suggest Lines from Time Sheets.

  8. Select the relevant usage line. You can add a relevant document number, for example, the Assembly Order number, if your business work flow requires it. Choose Post.

  9. To see the corrected entries, on the Navigate tab, choose Ledger Entries. Your correction should be in the list of ledger entries.

You can use this procedure to correct erroneous time sheet entries that were created as part of an assembly order or a service order. To undo other time sheet line entries, a manager should reject the individual time sheet lines instead of approving them.
