How to: Close Subcontracting Orders Without Full Delivery of Goods
You can close a subcontracting order even if the subcontractor has not delivered the agreed-upon quantities of finished goods. For example, you have a production order for ten finished goods. The vendor supplies eight finished goods but you decide to close the production order without receiving the remaining finished goods. You can close the production order only if there is no inventory at the vendor location. If there is inventory at the vendor location, the inventory must be returned. To do this, you must first change the status of the subcontracting order to Closed, and then change the production order status to Finished. For more information, see Inventory Order Details Report and Production Order Table.
Note
You can reopen a closed subcontracting order only if the production order is released. If the status of the production order is Finished, you cannot reopen the subcontracting order.
