How to: Correct 26Q and 27Q Entries

You can use the Correct 26Q/27Q Entries batch job to correct quarterly statements submitted to income tax authorities. The corrected forms are updated using the Revised Form 26Q or Revised Form 27Q batch jobs.

After you correct the entries in Form 26Q or in Form 27Q, you can print the respective revised forms.

To correct 26Q and 27Q entries

  1. In the Search box, enter Correct 26Q/27Q Entries, and then choose the related link.

  2. On the Options FastTab, fill in the fields as described in the following table.

    Field Description

    Quarter

    Specifies the quarter for which the revisions are being made.

    Financial Year

    Specifies the financial year for which the revisions are being made.

    Correction Type

    Specifies the type of correction that is being made. Options include Deductor, Challan, Deductee, and Deductor T.A.N.

    Form No.

    Specifies the number of the form for which revisions are being made. Options include 26Q and 27Q.

  3. Choose the OK button.

The following procedure describes how to revise 26Q entries, but the same steps also apply to revising 27Q entries.

To revise 26Q entries

  1. In the Search box, enter Revised Form 26Q, and then choose the related link.

  2. On the Options FastTab, fill in the fields as described in the following table.

    Field Description

    T.A.N. Location

    Specifies the location code of the tax account number (TAN).

    Report Frequency

    Specifies the quarter for which the report will be printed.

    Financial Year

    Specifies the financial year that will be printed on the report.

    Full Name

    Specifies the name of the person who is associated with the TDS.

    Designation

    Specifies the designation of the person entered in the Full Name field.

    Printing Date

    Specifies the date that will be printed on the report.

    Mobile No.

    Specifies the telephone number of the assessee.

  3. Choose Print to print the report or choose Preview to view it on the screen.
