Tax and Payment Structures
With Microsoft Dynamics NAV you can define tax and payment structures to help you manage your tax-related transactions. A structure determines the sequence of the application of taxes and charges, and their impact on inventory.
You can define structures to calculate multiple taxes. You can also use structures as predefined templates for a combination of taxes and charges for business transactions. You can define tax or charge groups for purchase transactions and sales transactions, and attach structures to purchase orders and sales orders. For more information, see How to: Set Up Tax or Charge Groups and Structures.
Tax or charge groups include the following:
Excise tax. For more information, see Excise Tax Overview.
Sales tax. For more information, see Sales Tax Overview.
Service tax. For more information, see Service Tax Overview.
Freight and insurance charges.
Other taxes.
You can specify whether the tax or charge groups are payable to vendors other than the vendor that is linked to the purchase order. In the structure, you can also define the financial postings that are associated with the taxes and charges.
