Service Mgt. Setup Window

Specifies how you want to manage service items, service orders, service contracts, e-mail warnings, and other aspects of service management.

General

Use the General FastTab to manage your services. You can set up automatic e-mail warnings for response times that you define for your service orders. You can use service zones and resource skills for managing planning, multi-dimensional fault reporting for service items, define whether you assign one or more service items to a service order, whether the program copies comments from a service order to the correspondent service shipment and invoice, and so on.

Mandatory Fields

Use the Mandatory Fields FastTab to set up to help you get the information that you require for your service transactions, such as starting and finishing dates for service orders, fault reason codes, and salespersons.

Defaults

Use the Defaults FastTab for to specify the default information for your Service department or organization, such as the default response time, default warranty of parts and labor, as well as warranty duration for service items.

Contracts

Use the Contracts FastTab to set up your requirements for contracts, for example, you can establish whether reason codes are required when a contract is canceled. You must fill in the Contract Serv. Ord. Max. Days field. If you do not, the maximum number of days is set to 0.

Numbering

Use the Numbering FastTav to set up a number series for different types of service documents, including service items, service orders, service contracts, service contract templates, and troubleshooting. Generally, the next available number is automatically entered, unless you have set up your system to permit manual numbering for a particular number series.
