Location Code Field, Assembly Header Table

Specifies the location to which you want to post output of the assembly item.

The location code on the assembly order header specifies where the assembled item output is placed, and the Location Code field on the assembly order lines specifies where assembly components are placed. Because you should output at the same location where components are consumed, you are prompted to use the same location code on the assembly order lines when you select a code in this Location Code field. This is not true when you select a code in the Bin Code field because you should not place the assembled output in a component bin.

Additional Information

You can define a default location for all manually created assembly orders by filling in the Default Location for Orders field in the Assembly Setup window.

You can set the location up with a default bin structure to manage the flow of assembly components from the warehouse to the assembly area. For more information, see the To-Assembly Bin Code field on the location card.
