Search Name Field, Vendor Table
Specifies a search name.
You can use the Search Name field to search for a particular vendor when you cannot remember the vendor number. It is often easier to remember that the name of the vendor - which will often be the search name - is Jensen Brothers, for example.
When you enter something in the Name field and press ENTER, the program automatically copies the contents to the Search Name field.
The contents of the Search Name field do not need to be the same as those of the Name field. You can enter a search name yourself, using a maximum of 50 characters, both numbers and letters.
Important
If the search name has been inserted automatically by the program, it will be changed each time you make any change in the Name field. If you have inserted the search name manually it will not be changed automatically together with changes in the Name field.
Tip
For more information on how to work with fields and columns, see Work with Data. For assistance in finding specific pages, see Search.
