Language Support Scenarios
Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 offers a localized administrative experience in many languages. The Windows Server 2008 operating system language and the Exchange 2010 supported languages interact in several ways. Depending on your operating system's selected language, as well as the Exchange 2010 server language you choose to install, there are several different scenarios. You can also install the Windows Server 2008 Multilingual User Interface Pack (MUI), which adds another layer of language abstraction to your server's configuration.
The following table describes several scenarios that represent the majority of cases that you will encounter when planning your Exchange 2010 language settings. Each of the following scenarios explains how a typical Windows Server 2008 and Exchange 2010 language interaction work. The Exchange Management Console (EMC) and the Exchange Management Shell (Shell) are the Exchange management interfaces referred to in the table.

To install a localized version of the Unified Messaging (UM) feature, you must download the UM language pack from Unified Messaging Language Packs for Exchange Server 2010.
