Calendar > Reply To or Forward a Meeting Request

Other users may invite you to meetings by using the Calendar in Outlook Web App. These meeting requests appear as messages in your Inbox.

How do I reply to a meeting request?

  1. To open the meeting request, click the request in your Inbox.

  2. Click one of the buttons in the following table.

    Title Description

    accept meeting invitation

    Accepts the meeting and adds it to your calendar. Other people looking at your schedule will see you're busy during the time of the meeting.

    tentatively accept

    Accepts the meeting but indicates you may not attend. The meeting is added to your calendar. But other people looking at your schedule can see you've only a tentative appointment at that time.

    decline

    Declines the meeting. Nothing is added to your calendar.

    You can check your schedule before you accept the meeting by clicking Calendar on the toolbar.

  3. If you select Edit the response before sending, a message window addressed to the sender of the meeting request will open when you click Accept, Tentative, or Decline. If you want to add recipients to your meeting response, fill in the To and Cc boxes.

  4. If you want to send a message together with your reply, type a message in the text box. For example, you can explain why you may not attend the meeting.

  5. When you finish writing your response, click send Send.

How do I forward a meeting request?

  1. Open the meeting request.

  2. Click forward Forward on the toolbar.

  3. In the To box, type the e-mail address you want to forward the request to.

  4. The text of the original message is copied to the message body. Type anything you want to add in or above the sender's original message.

  5. Click send Send.
