Forward a Task

Applies to: Office 365 for professionals and small businesses, Office 365 for enterprises, Microsoft Exchange, Live@edu

You can send a task from your task list to one or more people by selecting the task and forwarding it to them.

How do I forward a task?

  1. In the Navigation Pane, click task Tasks.
  2. Highlight the task you want to forward.
  3. Click forward Forward on the toolbar. This opens a new message form with the task added as an attachment.
  4. In the To box, type the names or aliases of the recipients, and then click Check Names check names to resolve the names. If you don't know a recipient's name, click To to open the Address Book and search for the recipient in your organization's shared address book or your Contacts.
  5. Click send Send or press ALT+S.
Forwarding a task to someone isn't the same as assigning it to them. You can't create, accept, or edit assigned tasks in Outlook Web App. For more information about assigned tasks, see Create and track assigned tasks in the Outlook Help.
