Groups (Public)

Use Groups to create your own public group to share with other people in your shared address book. You can also view other public groups from the shared address book and join or leave a group.

Public Groups I Belong To

In this pane, every public group you're a member of is listed by its display name and e-mail address. Use this pane to join or leave a public group listed in your shared address book or to learn more about a group you belong to.

Setting Description

Join

Click Join to become a member of a public group listed in your organization's shared address book. You can search for a group here if you can't find it listed.

Details

Click Details for a selected group to see more information about the group, for example, a description of the group, its owners, its members, or the type of approval required to join the group.

Refresh

Click the refresh button to update the list of groups you belong to.

Leave

To leave a group, select the group from the list, and then click Leave.

Search groups

To find a group you're looking for, in the Search groups box, type part of or the full name of the group, and then click Search icon. To clear the search, click X next to the box.

Public Groups I Own

All the public groups you've created or own are listed in this pane. You can create a new public group to share with others in the shared address book, modify the group settings, set owner, membership, and approval options, or delete the group.

Setting Description

New

Click New to create a public group, add members, add owners, and set approval options for the group.

Details

View or modify your group's settings by clicking Details for the group. In the Group dialog box that appears, you can set additional settings for the group, more than you could set when you first created the group.

Remove

To delete a group you own, select the group, and then click the remove button Delete.

Refresh

After you create or delete a group, you may have to click the refresh button to see an updated list of groups you own.

Search groups

To find a group you own, in the Search groups box, type part of or the full name of the group, and then click Search icon. To clear the search, click X next to the box.
