Miscellaneous Device Properties

This section lists miscellaneous device instance properties that Windows Vista and later Windows versions support as part of the unified device property model, but which are not otherwise listed in Device Instance Properties. These properties are listed in this section by their corresponding property keys in the unified device property model.

The following information is supplied for these miscellaneous device properties:

  • The property key that represents the device instance property.

  • The property-data-type identifier that indicates the data type of the property.

  • Access permissions.

  • Whether the property value is localized.

  • How the property is accessed.

Windows Server 2003, Windows XP, and Windows 2000 do not support most of these properties. The information that is provided with each property key indicates which of these earlier versions of the Windows operating system support the property and provides a link to information about how to access the property value on these earlier versions of Windows.

For general information about how to access device instance properties on Windows Vista and later Windows versions, see Accessing Device Instance Properties (Windows Vista).

For general information about how to access device instance properties on Windows Server 2003, Windows XP, and Windows 2000, see Using SetupAPI and Configuration Manager to Access Device Properties.
