TARGETEXT

Use the TARGETTEXT macro to specify the file name extension (such as .cpl) for your DLL files.

If this macro is not defined, the .dll extension will be used.

Only certain extensions are permitted. If you specify an unsupported extension, the Build utility displays the message "Unexpected Target Ext."
