GetDeviceGuid Method of the IFPCAdapter2 Interface

The GetDeviceGuid method gets the string-formatted globally unique identifier (GUID) of the network adapter.

Syntax

HRESULT GetDeviceGuid(
  [out]  BSTR* pbstrConnectionSpecificDnsSuffix
);

Parameters

  • pbstrConnectionSpecificDnsSuffix
    Pointer to a BSTR that is set on return to the string-formatted GUID of the network adapter.

Return Value

This method returns S_OK if the call is successful; otherwise, it returns an error code.

Parameters

This method has no parameters.

Return Value

This method returns a string value that specifies the string-formatted GUID of the network adapter if successful. Otherwise, an error is raised that can be intercepted by using an error handler.
