Show All

Show, hide, or change task panes

Task panes appear on the left side or at the bottom of the MapPoint window. You can use them to track your location with a GPS receiver, create routes, display driving guidance instructions, create territories, find nearby places, and so on.

Show or hide the GPS task pane

To show the GPS task pane, on the Tools menu, click GPS Task Pane.

On the Standard toolbar, click GPS Task Pane GPS task pane button.

To hide the GPS task pane , click GPS task pane button.

– or –

In the upper-right corner of the pane, click Close button.

Show or hide the Driving Guidance task pane

To show the Driving Guidance task pane, on the Tools menu, click Driving Guidance.

– or –

On the Standard toolbar, click Driving Guidance Driving Guidance task pane button.

To hide the Driving Guidance task pane, click Driving Guidance task pane button.

– or –

In the upper-right corner of the pane, click Close button.

Show or hide the Route Planner pane

To show the Route Planner pane, on the Route menu, click Route Planner.

– or –

On the Standard toolbar, click Route Planner Route Planner button.

To hide the Route Planner pane, click Route Planner button.

– or –

In the upper-right corner of the pane, click Close button.

Show or hide the Find Nearby Places pane

To show the Find Nearby Places pane, on the Tools menu, click Find Nearby Places.

– or –

On the Standard toolbar, click Find Nearby Places Find Nearby Places button.

To hide the Find Nearby Places pane, click Find Nearby Places button.

– or –

In the upper-right corner of the pane, click Close button.

Show or hide the Territory Manager pane

You must create territories before you can show or hide the Territory Manager pane.

To show the Territory Manager pane, on the Data menu, click Territories.

– or –

On the Standard toolbar, click Territory Manager Territory Manager button.

To hide the Territory Manager pane, click Territory Manager button.

– or –

In the upper-right corner of the pane, click Close button.

Change task panes

To change the left pane from one task pane to another, click the name of the pane that is currently open, and on the drop-down menu, click the name of the task pane that you want.

Note  If you are using a GPS device and you select Show GPS window when pane is closed in the Options dialog box, the GPS Sensor window appears in the lower-right corner of the map when a task pane other than the GPS task pane is open.
