About distributing an application created with the Microsoft MapPoint Control
After you create an application with the MapPoint Control, you may want to distribute it to others. Each computer on which the application is installed must have either a full MapPoint license or an embedded license through the Microsoft Independent Software Vendor (ISV) Royalty Licensing program; otherwise, your application's calls to MapPoint will fail.
MapPoint licenses can be obtained from your ISV or from your Microsoft sales representative. To find out how, visit the Microsoft ISV Royalty Licensing Program page on the Microsoft Partners Web site.
Your application can be deployed over a network or by portable media, such as a CD or DVD. Be sure to follow the instructions in Create an installation disc for an application created by using the MapPoint Control.
