Name a territory set and its territories

When you create a territory set manually or by importing or linking to your own data, MapPoint names the territory set Custom Territories. When you add a territory to the set, the first one is named New territory and subsequent territories are named New territory(x), where x is an integer. You should name the set and the individual territories to names that describe the area.

To name a territory set

  1. In the Territory Manager, click the text box under Territory set name.
  2. Type the name for your territory set.

Note  If territories were created with linked data, opening the Territory Manager will break the link to your source data. You can change the name by right-clicking on the territory set in the Legend and Overview, clicking Properties from the context menu, and typing the new name on the General tab.

To name individual territories

  1. In the Territory Manager, double-click the territory that you want to rename.
  2. Type the name of the territory and press ENTER.
