Add a highlighted line

Note   To complete the following procedure, you must use the Drawing toolbar. If the Drawing toolbar is not visible, on the View menu, point to Toolbars, and then click Drawing.

1. On the Drawing toolbar, click Highlight .

2. Do one or both of the following:

   • To draw freehand highlighted segments, drag the mouse on the map.

   • To draw a straight segment, click point to point.

3. Do one of the following:

   • To end a highlighted line and leave it open, double-click where you want it to end, or press ESC.

   • To close a highlighted shape, right-click at any point, and then click Close Curve.

Note   The length of the highlighted line appears on the map in miles or kilometers, depending on the units designated in the Options dialog box.
