Change display settings

To take advantage of the detail of the maps in MapPoint, you should set the color and screen resolution settings at the highest possible level that your monitor supports. The minimum setting is 16-bit color; higher color settings provide optimal results.

To change display settings on Microsoft Windows XP:

  1. Click Start.

  2. Click Control Panel.

  3. Double-click Display, and then click the Settings tab.

  4. Under Color quality, adjust the settings that you want.

  5. Under Screen resolution, adjust the settings that you want.

  6. Click OK.

To change display settings on Microsoft Windows Vista:

  1. Click Start.

  2. Click Control Panel.

  3. Click Personalization, and then click Display Settings.

  4. Under Resolution, move the slider to the resolution you want.

  5. Click Apply.

To change display settings on Microsoft Windows Server 2008:

  1. Click Start.

  2. Click Control Panel.

  3. Click Appearance, and then click Screen Resolution.

  4. Under Resolution, move the slider to the resolution you want.

  5. Click Apply.

To change display settings on Microsoft Windows 7:

  1. Click Start.

  2. Click Control Panel.

  3. Click Appearance and Personalization.

  4. Click Display, and then on the left side, click Adjust resolution, Calibrate color, or Change display settings to adjust the settings you want.

  5. Click OK.

  • MapPoint is supported on the Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, and Windows Server 2008 operating systems.
