Measure distances on the map
On the Tools menu, click Measure distance.
On the map, click the place from which you want to start measuring, and then do the following:
To draw straight line segments between two places, click point to point.
To draw a freeform line, drag the pointer in whatever way you want.
The running total of the distance appears as you move your pointer across the map.
To stop measuring, double-click or press ESC.
Tips
If you want to zoom in or out while measuring a distance, use the PLUS SIGN (+) and MINUS SIGN (–) keys on the numeric keypad.
You can change the width or color of a line by using Line style or Line color on the Drawing toolbar.
Note Measure distance is unavailable in Navigation view.
