Restore Wizard (Administrator)
Restores projects to your Visual SourceSafe database from an archive file (.ssa extension). You can also perform restore operations from the command line using the SSRESTOR utility.
Wizard Access
In Visual SourceSafe Administrator, on the Tools menu, click Restore Projects.
Wizard Step 1 of 3
Step 1 of the Restore wizard allows you to specify the archive file from which to restore projects. You can either type in the name of the file or browse to find it.
- Browse
Allows you to search for the archive file.
- Cancel
Cancels the wizard without completing the operation.
- Next
Proceeds to the next step of the wizard.
- Select the archive file…
Specifies the archive file.
Wizard Step 2 of 3
Step 2 of the Restore wizard lets you choose the items to restore to the database.
- Cancel
Cancels the wizard without completing the operation.
- Deselect All
Deselects all projects in the project list. Clicking this button deactivates the remainder of the wizard. You can only go back to the previous step or cancel the restore operation.
- Display subprojects
Displays subprojects for the projects shown in the project list.
- Next
Proceeds to the next step of the wizard.
- Select All
Selects all projects in the archive to restore to the database.
- Select the projects that you would like to restore…
Displays a project list from which you can choose the projects to restore from the archive.
Wizard Step 3 of 3
Step 3 of the Restore wizard allows you to specify options for restoring the selected projects to the database.
- Browse
Allows you to search for the location to which to restore the selected items.
- Comment
Specifies a comment about the restore operation.
- Restore the project to a different location
Restores the project to the location that you specify.
- Restore to the project the item was archived from
Restores the items you have selected to the project originally archived.
- Back
Returns to the previous step of the wizard.
- Cancel
Cancels the restore operation.
- Finish
Performs the restore operation.
