How to: Delete Connections and Delegations from System Diagrams

In System Designer, you can delete connections between members of a system definition. You can also delete delegations between proxy endpoints and the endpoints on members of the system definition.

Deleting a connection from the system diagram removes only the connection information between the endpoints on the affected members in the current system definition. This action does not delete the endpoints on those members nor does it affect any other diagrams that define or contain references to those members. For more information, see Communication within Application Systems.

Note

For a system to be correctly and completely defined, all consumer endpoints on members of a system definition must be connected or exposed as proxy endpoints. For more information, see How to: Connect Applications and Systems on System Diagrams and How to: Add Proxy Endpoints to Application Systems.

Deleting a delegation from a system diagram deletes the connected proxy endpoint on the system definition. When a proxy endpoint is deleted, other items are also affected as described in How to: Delete Endpoints from System Diagrams.
