How to: Specify Operating System and .NET Framework Version Requirements on Logical ServersĀ
The Operating System constraint enables you to quickly specify operating system or .NET Framework version requirements on logical servers hosting the selected application. For example, you can require the Web site on the logical server hosting your Web application be configured to use the .NET Framework version 1.1.
This constraint is available on the following types of applications in Application Designer:
WindowsApplication
ASP.NETWebService
ASP.NETWebApplication
OfficeApplication
GenericApplication
To enable Operating System and.NET Framework version constraint
Select the application for which you want to specify an Operating System constraint.
View the Settings and Constraints Editor.
Select the Operating System check box under the Logical Server Constraints node.
Set the appropriate constraint values in the Operating System constraint dialog box.
When this application is bound to a particular logical server in Deployment Designer, the requirements you set in this constraint will be compared to the configuration of the logical server hosting your application. Any configuration conflicts will be displayed in the Error List when the deployment diagram is validated.
