Report Migration from Crystal Reports 8.5 and Earlier

When you migrate Crystal reports that have been created in Crystal Reports 8.5 or earlier to Crystal Reports .NET, the report file format is updated to provide full Unicode support.

Note

Crystal Reports .NET includes Crystal Reports for Visual Studio .NET 2002 and up and Crystal Reports 9, 10 and XI.

After this update, the report file can no longer be opened in earlier versions.

Therefore, when you migrate reports from Crystal Reports 8.5 or earlier, be sure to keep a backup copy of your original reports.
