Restoring the Team Foundation Server from Backups
As a Team Foundation Server administrator, you may have to restore Team Foundation Server. The databases are the major component to restore. All other steps in the restoration process are related to configuring the application services to reconnect to that restored data. You should consider doing test restorations frequently to ensure the integrity of your backups.
Warning
If possible, use the same data-tier name for the server you restore to. If you must restore to a new data-tier server name, you can not recover the Microsoft Project files stored in Team Foundation Server. Microsoft Office documents such as Word documents (.doc) and Excel spreadsheets (.xls) can be recovered.
