GetAttributeID Method of the ISdoDictionaryOld Interface
The GetAttributeID method retrieves the ID for the specified attribute.
HRESULT GetAttributeID(
[in] BSTR bstrAttributeName,
[out] ATTRIBUTEID* pId
);
Parameters
bstrAttributeName
Specifies the name of the attribute. This name is either the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) name, or the display name for the attribute.pId
Pointer to an ATTRIBUTEID that receives the ID of the specified attribute.
Return Value
If the method succeeds the return value is S_OK.
If the method does not find the attribute, the return value is DISP_E_MEMBERNOTFOUND.
If the method fails, the return value is one of the following error codes.

E_FAIL |
An unspecified error occurred. |
E_INVALIDARG |
One of the parameters is invalid. |
E_NOINTERFACE |
A specified interface is not supported. |
E_NOTIMPL |

E_OUTOFMEMORY |
The method was unable to allocate required memory. |
E_POINTER |
A pointer passed as a parameter is not valid. |
E_UNEXPECTED |
The method failed for unknown reasons. |
