IWMSPlugins::get_Category
The get_Category method retrieves the category name for the IWMSPlugins collection.
Syntax
HRESULT get_Category( BSTR* pVal );
Parameters
pVal
[out] Pointer to a BSTR containing the category name.
Return Values
If the method succeeds, it returns S_OK. If it fails, it returns an HRESULT error code.
Return code | Number | Description |
E_OUTOFMEMORY | 0x8007000E | There is insufficient memory to complete the function. |
E_POINTER | 0x80004003 | pVal is a NULL pointer argument. |
Remarks
The category identifies the general functionality of the plug-in. The following category names can be returned:
- Authentication
- Broadcast Data Sink
- Cache Proxy
- Control Protocol
- Data Source
- Event Notification and Authorization
- Media Parser
- Playlist Parser
- Stream Filter
- Unicast Data Sink
