CRMContact.MakePrivate Method
The MakePrivate method makes the contact unavailable to anyone except the owner and the users that share the object. Only the owner of a contact can make it private. By default, all objects are public. See Remarks.
Syntax
[Visual Basic .NET]
Public Sub MakePrivate(
ByVal Caller As CUserAuth,
ByVal ContactId As String
)
[C#]
public void MakePrivate(
CUserAuth Caller,
string ContactId
);
[C++]
public: void MakePrivate(
CUserAuth* Caller,
String* ContactId
);
Parameters
Caller
Specifies the identity of the caller. The caller must have the prvWriteContact privilege and must be the contact owner to perform this action. See CUserAuth.
ContactId
Specifies the ID of the contact to make private.
Return Value
No return value.
Remarks
Note The Microsoft CRM application does not provide an interface for making an object private. However, if you make an object private by using a third-party solution, the application recognizes this setting.
If there is an error, SOAP throws an exception and the error message is reported in System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException.Detail.OuterXml.
All IDs passed to the platform are GUIDs wrapped in braces. For example: {6522D89A-A752-4455-A2B0-51494C6957C3}
