CD/DVD-ROM Block Driver Test
The CD/DVD-ROM Block Driver Test tests the functionality of CD/DVD-ROM drivers and verifies the integrity of data reads from any CD-ROM, audio compact disc (CD), or digital video disc (DVD). This test reads raw data from any CD or DVD and compares the data to existing data in an image file located on your development workstation. The CD/DVD-ROM Block Driver Test also reads raw audio track data from an audio CD and writes it to a file located on your development workstation for manual verification of audio quality.
The following table shows the hardware requirements for the CD/DVD-ROM Block Driver Test.
Requirements | Description |
---|---|
CD/DVD-ROM | A CD-ROM drive or CD/DVD-ROM drive. |
CD/DVD image located on the development workstation | A complete image of the CD or DVD media used for testing. The image is stored on the development workstation in a file named Cdsector.dat. To create a Cdsector.dat file for media in the CD-ROM drive or CD/DVD-ROM drive, run test case 6101. |
Audio CD | An audio CD is required for test cases 6008 and 6009. If an audio CD is not in the CD-ROM drive or CD/DVD-ROM drive, these test cases are skipped. |
The following table shows the software requirements for the CD/DVD-ROM Block Driver Test.
Requirements | Description |
---|---|
Tux.exe | Tux test harness, which is required for executing the test. |
Kato.dll | Kato logging engine, which is required for logging test data. |
Tooltalk.dll | Application required by Tux.exe and Kato.dll. Handles the transport between the target device and the development workstation. |
Cdromtest.dll | Test .dll file. |
Note When you run the CD/DVD-ROM Block Driver Test, the CETK temporarily copies files to the root directory of the target device. Before running the test, verify that there is at least 0.5 megabytes (MB) of free space in the root directory of the target device. If there is not sufficient space in the root directory of the target device, the test cannot run.
