A Unique Opportunity for Russian ISVs

Take a guess. What emerging-market economy is recording a 30% annual growth in the IT sector? India? Nope. China? Nope. The correct answer is Russia, with its hotbed of emerging ISVs.

What better way for emerging ISVs to know about Microsoft’s products and partnership opportunities than by attending the ISV Community Day! A total of 250 ISVs attended the inaugural event in Moscow on 8 October 2004, which was part of the Microsoft Partner Forum. As a bonus, as part of the Q&A; session with Steve Ballmer, several ISVs posed questions directly to the CEO!

The general sessions included ISV focused topics such as Microsoft Partner Program for ISV and it’s benefits and opportunities, Main technologies and products in 2005 for ISV’s, Partner framework for ISV’s etc.


In the afternoon, the attendees broke out into two streams: business and technical sessions. The former included topics such as the ISV Royalty Program and the Software Testing Framework. There was an intense discussion with ISVs on these topics, which showed the popularity of these timely topics among the ISVs’ business decision makers. The technical sessions included demos and overviews to the technologies used in building Connected Systems, particularly Web Services.

As expected, overall attendee satisfaction was high, with an average score of 7.5 out of 9.0.
