1. ELIGIBILITY:
This Sweepstakes is a trade-promotion only open to legal residents of the 50 United States (includes D.C.) who are at least 18 years of age and are employed as IT professionals or software developers (or in a IT or software development role) or have experience and/or knowledge necessary to use SQL Server Express Void elsewhere and where prohibited by law. Employees of Microsoft Corporation and any person engaged to work on this promotional program and their respective affiliates, parent companies, subsidiaries, promotion, advertising and promotional agencies and each of their immediate family members (including mother, father, sister, brother, child, husband or wife) and those living in their households are not eligible to enter or win.
2. ENTRY PERIOD:
The Sweepstakes opens at 12:00 a.m. Pacific Time (PT) on May 15, 2007 and ends at 11:59 pm (PT) on July 31, 2007 (“Entry Period”).
3. HOW TO ENTER:
To enter, simply register your SQL Server 2005 Express Edition download by navigating to: https://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/express/bb410791.aspx or https://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/express/bb435020.aspx and clicking on the “Yes, I want to register and receive the benefits” button. (NOTE: In order to access the online registration form, you’ll be prompted to sign in with your Windows LIVE™ ID). Once you complete all required fields and submit your registration, you will automatically receive one (1) entry into this Sweepstakes.

Limit one (1) entry per person, regardless of entry method. Subsequent entries from the same person will be automatically disqualified.
The use of automated devices to enter this Sweepstakes is prohibited. No responsibility is assumed by Microsoft for lost, late, misdirected, mutilated, postage due or illegible entries or any computer, online telephone, or technical malfunctions that may occur. All entries become the property of Microsoft and will not be returned.
4. WINNER SELECTION/PRIZES:
On or around July 7, 2007, three (3) winners will be chosen in a random drawing from among all eligible entries received to win a LCD Flat Panel TV, approximately 42’ (Estimated Retail Value, ERV), $2000.00)
Total ERV of all Prizes: $6,000
Random drawing will be conducted under the supervision of Microsoft, whose decisions are final. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. Prizes are not redeemable for cash. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in these Official Rules, winner is solely responsible for the distribution of prizes within its organization in accordance with its policies governing prize awards. No substitution, transfer, or assignment of prize permitted, except that Microsoft reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value in the event an offered prize is unavailable. Taxes on the prizes are solely the responsibility of the winner.
If the winner cannot or will not accept a prize, then the prize will be forfeited and may be awarded to an alternate winner.
Any and all guarantees and warranties for merchandise prizes are subject to the manufacturer’s terms and conditions, and winner agrees to look solely to such manufacturers for any such warranty or guarantee claim.
5. GENERAL CONDITIONS:
Sweepstakes entrants agree to abide by the terms of these Official Rules and by the decisions of Microsoft which are final and binding on all matters pertaining to this Sweepstakes. This Sweepstakes is governed by the laws of the United States. In the event of a dispute, the laws of the State of Washington govern the interpretation of these Official Rules.
If you are determined to be a winner: (a) the prize will be awarded to you and you shall ensure that it is used and/or distributed in accordance with your company’s policies (Note: Sponsor is not responsible for the re-distribution of prizes within your company); (b) you will be notified by phone or by U.S. mail, overnight mail, or e-mail; and (c) you may be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility/Liability/Publicity Release, unless prohibited by law, within seven (7) days of date of prize notification. If you are a winner and you: (d) do not reply to such notification or the notification is undeliverable; (e) do not return the Affidavit of Eligibility/Liability/Publicity form completed and signed within seven (7) days of date of prize notification (if required); or (f) if you are not otherwise in compliance with these Official Rules, you will be disqualified and, we may, at our discretion, notify a runner-up. Return of any prize / prize notification as undeliverable may also result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner
If you are a winner and accept the prize, you agree that we and our designees shall have the right to use your name, city and state of residencein any and all media now or hereafter devised worldwide in perpetuity, without additional compensation, notification or permission, unless prohibited by law.
By entering, you release and hold harmless Microsoft, their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, employees and agents from any and all liability or any injuries, loss or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with this Sweepstakes or any prize won.
6. INTERNET:
If for any reason the Internet portion of the program is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of Microsoft which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Sweepstakes, Microsoft reserves the right at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Sweepstakes. In any such event, Microsoft, at its discretion, will select the winner(s) from eligible non-suspect entries received prior to the event requiring such termination, suspension or cancellation. Microsoft assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries. Microsoft is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any email or entry to be received by Microsoft on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any Web site, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to participant's or any other person's computer related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in this Sweepstakes. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THIS SWEEPSTAKES IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. Entries made by Internet will be declared made by the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at time of entry. "Authorized account holder" is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization (e.g., business, educational, institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address.
