Supported Operating Systems for Clients
Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 and Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2 will reach end of support on January 9, 2018. To stay supported, you will need to upgrade. For more information, see Resources to help you upgrade your Office 2007 servers and clients.
Office Communications Server client software is compatible with the operating systems identified in this section.
Office Communicator 2007
The following operating systems are supported for Office Communicator 2007:
Windows Vista® operating system, 32-bit editions
Windows XP SP2 Professional Edition
Windows® 2000 SP4 Professional Edition (requires Windows Media Player® 9 and Microsoft Windows Installer, version 3.0). SRTP (Secure Real-time Transport Protocol), which Office Communications Server uses to encrypt voice and video, is not supported by Windows 2000.
Office Communicator Web Access
Supported operating systems and clients for Communicator Web Access are listed in the following table.

Live Meeting Client
The Microsoft Office Live Meeting 2007 client is compatible with the following operating systems:
Windows Vista, 32-bit editions
Windows XP Professional Edition with SP1 or SP2 (recommended)
Windows XP Professional x64 Edition in 32-bit mode
Windows 2000 SP4 Professional Edition (requires Windows Media® Player 9 and Microsoft Windows Installer, version 3.0). SRTP (Secure Real-time Transport Protocol), which Office Communications Server uses to encrypt voice and video, is not supported by Windows 2000.
Windows Server 2003 with SP1
Outlook Add-In
The add-in for Microsoft Office Outlook can be installed on Outlook 2002, 2003, or 2007. One of the following operating systems is required:
Windows Vista, 32-bit editions
Windows XP SP2 Professional Edition
Windows 2000 SP4 Professional Edition (requires Microsoft Windows Media Player 9 and Microsoft Windows Installer, version 3.0). SRTP (Secure Real-time Transport Protocol), which Office Communications Server uses to encrypt voice and video, is not supported by Windows 2000.
