Using Dialog Controls

This content is no longer actively maintained. It is provided as is, for anyone who may still be using these technologies, with no warranties or claims of accuracy with regard to the most recent product version or service release.

Dialog Speech Controls are a set of ASP.NET Web controls designed for building Speech Application Language Tags (SALT) voice response applications using SALT technology.

Dialog Speech Controls use grammars of the format defined by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Speech Recognition Grammar Specification. Speech Server includes Speech Grammar Editor, which presents a graphical approach to constructing grammars and integrates directly with the Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 development environment. Speech Grammar Editor also provides syntax validation to assist with grammar debugging.

Dialog Speech Controls perform the same types of prompting that are supported by SALT technology. Speech Server contains a prompt editing tool that supports speech prompt recording and editing.
