This content is no longer actively maintained. It is provided as is, for anyone who may still be using these technologies, with no warranties or claims of accuracy with regard to the most recent product version or service release.

Remarks

The Reply method puts the sender of this message in the To property of the new message but removes all other recipients and any attachments. The To property is normally set from this message's From property, but if ReplyTo is set on this message, it is used instead.

When you call the Reply method, the configuration fields in the reply message object are set with default values, overwriting any configuration values that were set prior to calling the Reply method. To avoid this, set the configuration fields for the message after you call the Reply method.

If the usemessageresponsetext Field is set to TRUE (VARIANT_TRUE), then the original message is formatted using the following:

-----Original Message----- From:"Person" <person@example.com> Sent:Tue, 23 Mar 1998 12:41:37 -0800 To:"Person A" <personA@example.com> Subject:Hello There

The message response text is localized into the language specified by the languagecode Field.
