Replication and the PROPFIND Method

This content is no longer actively maintained. It is provided as is, for anyone who may still be using these technologies, with no warranties or claims of accuracy with regard to the most recent product version or service release.

The PROPFIND Method is used to fetch the properties of an existing resource. The PROPFIND Method in the context of WebDAV replication is used to download the property changes for a particular resource. The server will not return the resourcetag of the affected resources in the response headers due to the possibility of large result set. However, the client can explicitly fetch the resourcetag as a property of every resource reported in the PROPFIND Method response.

Refer to the GET method request scenarios, because the PROPFIND Method scenarios are very similar to the GET method scenarios.
