SearchForObjectByDisplayName Method

Returns an entity object found by searching for a specified display name.

Syntax


objEntity  objDACL.SearchForObjectByDisplayName(strDisplayName);

Parameters

  • strDisplayName
    A string value of the display name for the specified trustee such as "Jane Clayton."

Return Value

A returned entity object.

Remarks

This method is not the most effective search method because only the first matched entity would be found if more than one entity had the same display name.

var objEntity = objDacl.SearchForObjectByDisplayName("Jane Clayton");
if(null == objEntity){
    //this user was not likely in the dacl
}
